Clinton Pal Richardson Endorses Obama
Current New Mexico Governor and former presidential candidate Bill Richardson owes a lot to Bill Clinton. He was appointed to two cabinet posts by the former President. Shortly after he withdrew from the Democratic presidential campaign, his old pal Bill Clinton flew down to New Mexico to spend Super Bowl Sunday with Richardson. According to Richardson, since then and on a regular basis, Bill Clinton has been calling to ask Richardson to endorse his wife for president. Nonetheless, today Governor Richardson endorsed Senator Barack Obama.
In a letter to his supporters Richardson said this: “He (Obama) asked us to rise above our racially divided past, and to seize the opportunity to carry forward the work of many patriots of all races, who struggled and died to bring us together. As a Hispanic, I was particularly touched by his words.”
