Today I am announcing my support for Senator Barack Obama for President of the United States of America. I am changing my support from Senator Clinton to Senator Obama, and calling for my fellow Democrats across my home State of Indiana, and my fellow super delegates across the nation, to heal the rift in our Party and unite behind Barack Obama. “[I’m] feeling so much at home because small towns, whether they’re in North Carolina, New York or Arkansas, are really the base of this country,” she said. “Small towns gave us our values; small towns give us so much of the texture of our lives. And we’ve gotta make sure we never lose that. That means having a president who’s going to focus on agriculture for family farmers. … It also means we need an economic development program for small town America.”

In the fiscal 2008 omnibus appropriations bill Hillary Clinton received 261 earmarks, more than five times the number of any other presidential candidate. …Clinton obtained 360 earmarks worth $2.2 billion from 2002 to 2006.
